5 Stars Bananagrams is a great family game
We play a lot of games at our house. I wrote a weekly game review article for a local paper for a couple of years, and Bananagrams was one of our all time favorite games. It’s definitely one we keep coming back to. We had given our review copy to some friends and missed it so much, I had to buy another copy. If you like word games, you’ll love Bananagrams.
5 Stars My High School Students are Addicted!!!!
I’m a math and physics teacher and I introduced this game to my 11th graders after the seniors graduated and we only had a few days in class. It started to sweep the school!!! Teachers were coming to play against students in their free period, kids were begging other teachers to come to my class – for what- to SPELL!!!! We learned new words, made new friends, and crossed all kinds of cultural boundaries. The best lesson I ever taught high school students. . Long after they forget the sine of 30 degrees, they will remember the words we learned in BANANAGRAMS!
1 Star Boring
Perhaps it is just what others have liked about this game – freedom from scrabble’s tyrannical board – is what I disliked about it the most in the end.
I am a huge fan of word games but I think the crucial ingredient in making this particular one fun is the presence of kids/teens. Just adults will find this pretty much a waste of their time even if they are big on word games/crosswords/boggle/scrabble etc.
4 Stars What a fun game
This is a game you can play anywhere (airplane, beach, even at home). Although the rules can get a little bit boring and the game can last a while with only 2 people, it is easy to add new rules and be creative with it.
