Melissa & Doug Deluxe Jumbo Cardboard Blocks List Price: Sale Price: $19.56 You save: $20.43 (51%) |
DescriptionThe Big Bad Wolf has nothing on these sturdy cardboard blocks. They're easy to assemble, and they're lightweight so even the youngest builders can construct their dream home. Bright colors mean endless combinations. Blocks come in several different sizes. Includes 40 blocks. These sturdy blocks can be stacked high for endless combinations. This 40-piece set takes the blah out of blocks, especially for kids who create best with lots of pieces, lots of color, and lots of space. A staple item in many preschools, this set can spark endless imaginative play as children build large, life-size structures. Kids will find plenty of ways to construct forts, bridges, walls, chairs, and more with the easy to assemble pieces. Three different size blocks offer a strong building foundation as well as a starting point for kids to conceptualize math (one large red block is the same size as two medium blue blocks or four small yellow blocks, adding blocks, counting blocks, etc.). The blocks also help develop large motor skills and teamwork. Made from heavy grade cardboard, these blocks are lightweight enough for small architects to lift and connect, but strong enough to support those same builders standing or sitting on them. Kids with a knack for construction and creative play will be enraptured by these bright red, yellow, and blue blocks for hours. The 40-piece set is made up of eight large red blocks (12" x 6" x 3"), eight medium blue blocks (6" x 6" x 3"), and 24 small yellow blocks (6" x 3" x 3"). Features

best castle to be found!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is really a great toy! We got it four our 4 year old son, you should have seen his eyes light up when we helped him pull it from the box! It was the most popular present at christmas, with all his cousins (all girls) playing all over the thing. It’s a good size to fit the wonderful Schleich figures too!
All wood, nicely decorated, no plastic and most importantly, no Disney Kitsch! Just a wonderful old fashioned playset that will see years of use. We placed it on his rarely used train table so there are pastures for the horses and water for the drawbridge.
I could not be more pleased. And I’m already looking forward to building some extensions, maybe an extra watch tower etc, it’s made of good quality plywood and will be fun to expand.

A quality product! This all wood constructed castle with pull-string drawbidge, sliding parts and staircase is well made. My kids truly enjoy playing with this nicely made castle.
Great – Exactly as promised

Nice work, solid craftsmanship, very durable toy, basically exactly as promised. We got this toy as a Christmas present for our 2 1/2 year old daughter who loves Shrek and Cinderella. The castle occupies her for hours as do the extra figures we also purchased. Great value and a great toy.
Great BIG Castle!

I bought this toy for my soon-to-be three year old daughter. Immediately after unpacking it, I asked her what she thought, to which she replied, “it looks terribly clever, Mom!” And it does seem clever – - unisex, flexible design with four turrets, a staircase, “dungeon”, courtyard, drawbridge and several nooks & crannies to keep her occupied. It’s very grand in scale – - several kids can play with it all at once with reasonable civility – - so purchasing the additional bendable wooden figurines from M&D is a good idea. It’s sturdy in construction but not as well-built as our Pottery Barn doll house (but not nearly as expensive either). In terms of the “fold n’ go” aspect of the toy, I don’t think this is a toy that we’d take on a roadtrip due to its large size but the folding mechanism is great to stow it neatly away after playtime. Overall, I think this toy will spur lots of imagination and fun – - A+ to Melissa & Doug!
Great castle!

We love this castle. I bought it for our 5 year-old for Christmas and now two years later he still plays with it regularly. This is way better than all the sets you have to assemble and a year later (at the most) give to the goodwill or trash because it is in pieces, lost or broken. This size works great with Papo and Schleich (sp?) figures. Love it!
Best toy value of anything we’ve ever bought.

We bought this as a gift for our son on his fourth birthday. He has used it every day since, often spending hours using it for imaginative play. It’s sturdy, handsome, and it folds up very conveniently for cleaning up and stowing away. (When you close the castle, you can put all of the figures inside it.)
It’s well-sized for use with the popular Papo knight figures.
Wonderful Castle

This has been a big hit with all my kids ages 6, 6, and 8 (all girls). The mini-barbies make great princesses LOL… I do highly recommend the schiel (sp?) figurines as their realistic details make play more exciting. The castle looks good in our family room too; and it is a magnet to every kid and adult who visits.
Folding Castle

My three year old grandson (and his father) absolutely love the Castle Play Set. It is easy to unfold and set up and gives them hours of fun.
Great toy, great price!

it’s better than i thought from the photos. i like how it’s appropriate for both medieval adventures and more fairy tale-like play. most castles i found were scary and violent looking, as well as being large hunks of plastic that have to take up room in your house. we like how this folds up for storage and the soft wood feel. also a plus is the different play areas… the staircase, the drawbridge, the dungeon, the throne room, the wall and guard tower. the 3 figures that come with the set leave a lot to be desired. they are very “arts n’ craft’y”. we purchased some realistic knight figures by Schleich which work well in the scale of the castle. actually the scale is better than the figures that come with the castle.
GREAT QUALITY CASTLE!!!

My son and daughter (3 & 5) love this castle. We purchased some additional Schliech Knights, Soldiers, a Siege Tent, and Catapult and my kids play with this everyday. It’s endless imaginitive play.
Bonus, Bonus!!: When the castle is closed, you can store all the knights and soldiers in the middle courtyard. Great for fast and easy clean-up.
