Candy Land - The Great Lollipop Adventure Sale Price: $49.39 |
DescriptionResponsibility, perseverance, and ingenuity are virtues that serve a young gingerbread boy well along a journey of self-discovery. Based on the Candy Land board game, this 55-minute animated adventure begins with a young gingerbread boy named Jib setting off toward the Candy Castle with an offering of special gingerbread icing to present to the King for the "Sweet Celebration" ceremony. At the Castle, King Kandy appoints his rather irresponsible daughter Princess Lolly to appear at the ceremony, stressing that she must bring her royal scepter to ensure the continued blossoming of everything sweet in Candy Land. Jib hurries along the colorful path to the Kingdom, meeting new friends Mr. Mint and Jolly along the way, while the sneaky Licorice Bites steal Princess Lolly's scepter to further Lord Licorice's evil plan to turn Candy Land into Licorice Land. A chance meeting between Jib and Princess Lolly leads the two to join forces against Lord Licorice, but can they possibly recover the scepter and make it to the Candy Castle in time for the celebration? Five original songs add musical fun to a fanciful adventure that offers a cute story to accompany a whole new generation's journey to Candy Land. (Ages 3 to 7) --Tami Horiuchi Jib, the youngest of all the gingerbread boys is about to go on the adventure of his young life... to bring Mama's special gingerbread icing to Candy Castle for the Sweet Celebration, a festival that ushers in the sweet new candies of Spring. And all Jib has to do is stay on the Rainbow Path, follow his heart, and be on time. But on his way, Jib meets Mr. Mint in the Peppermint Forest and the most fun-loving fellow in all of Candy Land. Jib tries to stay on schedule, but Mr. Mint has other, much more fun ideas! |

Good for small children
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have 2 preschoolers, and they get a kick out of this game….There isn’t a whole lot of educational value in it; only in that it teaches kids the concept of taking turns. But it’s fun for family time, and it’s one that the kids can play themselves without an adult having to play (which can be kind of nice sometimes).
I hate this game

I bought this game for my son because so many people love it. Its dull and my son quickly grew bored with it. Save your money. Get real Candy Land instead.
Great game for toddlers!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My 23 month old and 3 year old can both play this game with adults and have a lot of fun doing it. The length of the game is just right for short attention spans and the boards and pieces are sturdy. The game has players sorting pieces by color and shape “bingo” style. I would definitely recommend this game as a first board game for families with toddlers.
perfect for a very active and impatient 2 yr. old boy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This game is durable and easy to understand for little ones. I have a four year old girl, and a two year old boy, I also watch a 3 year old girl and a 1 year old. This game interests all of them especially my 2 yr old boy. Most games are either two complicated are two easy to break for him. He loves this game and asks to play it every day.
I keep all the pieces and the game boards in a gallon size freezer bag and put in under the castle which I keep with all the other games.
I got it on sale right before christmas for around $6.00. But I would gladly pay much more for it now that I know what a great game it is. It is really helping him with some of his colors and shapes and just playing encourages him to use his words. He doesnt talk alot and this game helps him want to communicate more! Would be too easy for over three or even for some smart 3 year olds if they didnt have someone younger to play with.
Perfect for 2 year old
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We recently bought this game for our 25-month-old son. This is the perfect first game for a young toddler as the concepts are simple enough for a 2-year-old to grasp, and it moves quickly while teaching them about taking turns, etc. I would not recommend this game for children aged 3 or older. It’s too simple and they will tire of it easily. If you’re looking for a great first game, I would highly recommend it.
Hasbro Candyland Castle Game

Got it for my grandson’s second birthday. Although it says it’s for 3+, a two-year old can play it easily. I had to help him match the first couple of shapes and colors, then he was going to town on it himself. What he has to learn now is how to take turns with others in order to make it a game.
Pieces lost in five minutes, limited game play
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I am so thankful that I managed to get this game for under $10 because it’s already pretty much ruined. There is no place to keep the pieces, unless you can successfully jam them all into the top of the castle and manage to keep them from spilling out. We’ve also lost two of the game cards already. It would be a lot better if they had provided a real box to keep the pieces together in, instead of a cut-out box that is useless except for in-store display use.
The game itself did not hold my son’s attention for more than five minutes. He liked shooting the pieces out, but other than that, he was bored. I think it would be a great first game for an older two-year old to very young three-year old, but there is a very small age range that would find this game interesting. It’s just a little too easy for most children over 3.5.

Hasbro Candy Land Castle Game
I purchased this game for my grandson after attempting playing the original Candy Land game with him. This is so much fun for both of us. Learning to “take-turns” is much easier for him with the smaller, individual player boards, complete with colored, shaped,cut-outs. When the lever on the brightly colored castle is pulled, a colored & shaped disk comes down a slide and your child can easily place the disk on the correct spot. It’s great fun just watching them await their turn pulling the lever. Well worth a look!
Love it!

This has been a great introduction to turn taking games. It is very simple and takes only a few minutes to complete a game, but that fits my 3 year old and 2 year old perfectly. The design in fantastic, it keeps all the pieces together perfectly. My daughter could play this when she was as little as 18 months old and mostly understood what was going on. And if you are creative you can extend the educational value beyond shapes and colors to addition/subtraction, greater than/less than, etc. as your children gain new skills. Overall, a great purchase!
Great beginner game

My daughter got this for Christmas and has loved it. She’s 23 months old and can name every shape in the game along with the color. She has no trouble matching up the pieces to the cards. However, we don’t really play the game to see who wins. I just want her to name the shapes, say the colors and find the match. we’ll get more into how to play as she gets older. But for now, I love it…it’s really helped her to learn! Great starter board game.
