Quality Quite Disappointing
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I ordered this play food set for my 2 1/2 y/o daughter’s Step 2 Play Kitchen. I was looking for an assortment of a wide variety of more realistic play food than what I’ve previously purchased. Based on previous reviews and this set being a Step 2 product, I was expecting better quality for the price I paid. The set I received included the cardboard items that you have to put together that are easily destroyed (I had read another review that these had been done away with)and several of the items my husband and I cannot tell what they are supposed to be. The plastic is very cheap and the overall quality and appearance of the items is not at all close to what I was expecting. I recall having very realistic play food for my kitchen when I was a child, like a sunny-side up egg that was realistic looking and made of rubber, etc… Unfortunately, I don’t want to deal with the hassle of returning the set, so now we’re stuck with it.
Good Toy

This set has many different kinds of foods, even some that we can’t identify. The only thing that would make this toy better would be if the set came with a list of what things were.
Yummers for Toddlers
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My 2 1/2 year old son likes to play with this food. I thought it was pretty cool that there is a variety of foods available across all kinds of cuisines — Mexican, Japanese, etc. The only thing I don’t like about these foods is that the perspective is off — the three bananas are about the same size as the single slice of pie. The bunches of grapes are teeny tiny, but the asparagus is true-to-size. I also thought it was weird that 2 stalks of celery are included, but no carrots? What kid eats celery?! Other than that, we have lots of fun with this on a daily basis.
Will not last long
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
My son likes to actually chew the play food. When play cooking. So this didn’t last very long. Not to mention some of the pieces are unbeliveably small(like the chicken)! I also ordered the wooden food along with this and it is great! Not to mention he plays with it alot more.
Excellent purchase

My grandson loves preparing meals for us. Amazon saved me money I was able to ship the gift to my grandson which saved me shipping cost. The product is sturdy & looks real. I am very pleased with my purchase. I always check Amazon because their prices are unbeaable. Thanks
Nice play food
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Lots of pieces and most look realistic. There are few pieces in it that are questionable as to what they are and one we can’t figure out at all. But overall, this is a nice variety set, all the foods smaller than in real life to fit their little hands and their little kitchens. My son got this for his 2nd birthday and has lots of fun with it. I give if four stars for couple hard to identify foods (and we are pretty educated when it comes to variety of foods) and for the quality. Not the best quality, but for the price, it does the job.
Lots of pieces for a toddler to play with
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
These pieces fit perfectly with the Step 2 Deluxe Kitchen. My 2 year old son does like to play with these food pieces when he is pretending in his play kitchen. However, he also likes to dump all of the pieces all over the floor.
If you don’t mind a messy play area, then I recommend this product. It’s also a great tool to use for toddlers to recognize and learn various food items.
Fun Stuff

Bought this play food set for my grandchildren, ages 1, 3 and 7. They all play with it and it is safe, durable, washable and FUN. The kids love it.
good product

I am very pleased with the product. My 2 year old is able to identify what some of the food is (remember–she’s 2!). The product is well made for a child and there is a bunch of pieces to be able to mix things up. I’m glad I got it.
cheap price, cheap product

you get what you pay for. i was looking for play food a bit more realistic and a better mix of fruits and vegetables. some of the stuff looked like vomit-mmmmmm tasty. but my daughter does like it and that is who it is for in the end.
