This thing is great!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is one of those rare gadgets that actually works as described. It is perfect for those stubborn clamshell packages, but the uses are really unlimited! And it’s obvious that the designers of this tool spent a lot of time engineering this product for ease of use and safety. Just a few things that set this product apart from other similar tools on the market:
The ergonomic wraparound handle makes it much easier and safer to use than any other package opening tool I’ve seen – no chance of accidental cuts from a slipped grip.
The angle between the blade and the flat surface of the tool allows it to slide through heavy plastic as well as thin paper, without binding up.
The tool is easily opened, used and closed with a single hand, and designed to be just as easy to operate left-handed as right-handed.
Although priced low enough to be disposable, the blade can be easily replaced by the owner several times for the price of a new tool. That also means less plastic in our landfills.
For years now, every time I struggled with one of those crazy clamshell packages, I felt sorry for the folks out there who can’t easily grip a razor knife, or easily operate a pair of scissors. This product appears to be exactly the solution they need.
As a gadget junkie, I think this product is really innovative, and as an owner and user, I know it does what they say it will, plus a lot more!
Great Product as a package opener and overall lady’s utuility tool

This product is a great lady’s utility cutter. I read the review form the lady that had trouble opening the blade guard. I think the cutter is designed to require enough force to open to keep children from opening it. Also, the snap shut blade guard keeps it from opening in my purse.
I use it for cutting boxes, packaging, and taped containers in my office. It works well on the hard to open plastic packages. I also keep an extra cutter in the glove box of my car.
After following the instructions sent with the cutter, it is easy and safe to use.

This looks like it needs an engineer to figure out how to use it!!! Too complicated.
really works

The first time opening one of those clamshell packages was fun. Doesn’t take a huge amount of strength. Only drawback is the blade guard is difficult to pull open the first time (careful, look at the instruction diagram). Very helpful gizmo.
Not the same experience as the other reviewers!

I often check with Amazon’s reviewers before a purchase, and have been warned off a few disaster by doing that. So I’m especially disappointed that this gadget didn’t work well for me. I find it difficult to open, and the placement of the blade makes it necessary to draw the sharp, pointed blade toward oneself. It HAS actually opened some of those irksome packages that are the bane of everyone’s existence, but still, the overall feeling here is disappointement.
It’s finally here!
