DescriptionHave Fun learning about letters and their sounds! LeapFrog characters spring to life in this engaging and educational DVD. Popular LeapFrog characters, Leap, Lily and Tad go on a wild adventure to the Letter Factory. Led by wacky Professor Quigley, Tad joins Js jumping on trampolines and Ks practicing karate kicks as new letters learn their sounds. Fun songs will have kids singing letter sounds in no time.Recommended Ages: 2 - 5 years Tad, Leap, and Lily hop from the pages of the amazingly popular Leap Pad learning toys onto the television screen in this attention grabbing phonics program. Tad's disappointment at being unable to help his family with an important presentation at the letter factory quickly turns to excitement when he meets Professor Quigley and joins each of the letters of the alphabet in their own fun-filled classroom devoted to learning their unique sound. Tad practices karate kicks with the k's, digs the vibes with the cool cat d's drumming on the bongos, and snores peacefully with the z's while learning to recognize each letter and the sound it makes. A catchy, fun song serves as a summation of each letter's "class" and entices even the most reluctant of toddlers (and their parents) to sing each letter's sound. An interactive game follows the program and gives children a chance to practice their newfound skills of recognizing letters and their sounds. Consumers expect great educational products from LeapFrog and this DVD won't disappoint. (Ages 2 to 5) --Tami Horiuchi |

Good purchase

Although my 2 year old isn’t actively playing with this toy, he does play with it once a while. He likes the ABC song the most and would try to sing along. A little mommy encouragement to play with it is needed.
My toddler is learning his alphabets with this toy though. The other day he learned that M is W upside down, and yesterday, he stopped at our front door because he discovered there were letters (like W) on our welcome mat.
Excellent educational toy!!

LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Alphabet Set Please note: this review refers to the newer sun shaped Leapfrog Fridge Phonics, not the older blue and red version.
I purchased this item for my 17 month-old daughter along with the Leapfrog Fridge Words Magnetic Word Builder (airplane shaped, not the older version Word Whammer). First off, I was thrilled that the upper-case letters from the Fridge Phonics are interchangeable with the lower-case letters from the Word Builder. Now my daughter can learn her upper and lower-case letters at the same time. A noted change with the new versions of this toy – if a letter has more than one phonetic sound, both sounds are given. For example, when the letter A is placed in the toy it gives the long and short vowel sound. This is also true for some of the consonants that give more than one sound (i.e. the letter C).
The only drawback to this toy is that at times the voice is not as clear as I would like. Also, with a younger child, having all 26 letters out at the same time may be over whelming, so I only put up about 10 letters at a time. Other than that, I am thrilled that I purchased this toy.
Great Toy

This toy is great fun for my daughter and me. My only complaint is that this thing eats batteries like nobody’s business. If you leave it on for an extended period of time your batteries are toast!!! I strongly recommend rechargeable batteries.
Need more stuff like this !

I got this for my 25 month old daughter. Not wanting to overwhelm her i gave her alphabets A-G the first day.
That’s it , I did not play with her or engage with her on this. She spent around an hour playing with this. The next day these two things happened .
1. As we were going down in an elevator she told her father ” Papa , you pressed ‘G’”
2. When I spelled out ‘egg’ to my husband wanting to avoid saying this in front of her, i said ‘e”g”g’ and she chimed in with “No mummy it is ‘e’,'f’,'g’ ”
It’s been two weeks now and she received ‘P’,'Q’,'R’ yesterday! There has not been any confusion or forgetting of previously learned alphabets.
We keep on getting surprised by where she keeps on finding HER alphabets now! on bill boards , shop fronts , magazines , mobile phone!
Have gifted this to another friend and this is going to be a staple recommendation now!
Great learning toy!

We purchased this toy for our one year old and she loves it! We knew we wanted the refrigerator magnets but all the ones we looked at were not kid friendly. These are durable and she really enjoys the songs after each letter and the main ABC song.
Best toy we ever bought

We’ve had this toy for 5 months now. After the first month along with the Leap Frog Letter Factory DVD my daughter who is 2.7 years old and behind on her verbal skills is saying all but 3 of her letters (not in order) and their sounds. Very impressed and would recommend to all parents!
My 3 yr old nephew loved it!

I hear he loves it and it gets him making his sounds, which is important.
Learning the alphabet is fun!!!

I recently gave this to my nephew because my daughter loved this so much. (She has the older version-the blue/green square with a frog). I gave this to her for Easter when she was 18 months. She knew a couple of letters at the time. We opened it together and she wanted me to tell her the letters. The next day I heard her saying all of the letters with the magnets. It took a little while to get the hang of putting the letters in the holder in the right direction, but not too long. I credit leapfrog to my child’s love of letters. (and a little bit of Sesame Street and SuperWhy) She’s 2 now and I’m thinking about getting her the LeapFrog magnet set for 3 letter words!

My 2 1/2 year old loves this. It’s his special toy to only play with in the kitchen and a great alternative to those little plastic letters from when we were kids!
