DescriptionThe Diana F+ is a faithful reproduction and a loving homage to the classic Diana - with a few new features tossed in. Its plastic lens, 2 shutter settings (daylight & "B"), 3 aperture settings, and manual focus are all hallmarks of the original Diana. And on top of that, the Diana F+ offers a removable lens and super-small aperture for pinhole images, two image formats (12 or 16 square shots on a standard 120 roll), an endless panorama feature that allows for unlimited and nearly seamless panoramic shots, and both a standard tripod thread & shutter lock for easy shake-free long exposures. Each package includes the new "Diana Vignettes, More True Tales & Short Stories" book - packed with over 200 pages of Diana history, Diana+ images, and truly off-the-wall fictional stories. Uses all varieties of medium format 120 film. FEATURES: Plastic Diana Lens - The Diana's original all-plastic lens has been duplicated with utmost care to ensure the same dreamy, gorgeous, color-drenched, sometimes-blurry, and often-mind blowing results that Diana users have always treasured. Two Shutter Speeds - Choose between "N" for normal daytime snapshots or "B" for unlimited indoor and nighttime exposures. Two Image Sizes - Allows choice between the 12 full-frame shots (5.2x5.2 cm), or 16 smaller square images - in the classic Diana format (4.2x4.2 cm). Multiple and Partial Exposures - Like the Holga, you can advance the Diana+ as much or as little as you like after each shot - making multiple exposures, half-exposed frames, and stretched out long shots a snap. Pinhole Function - Remove the lens, set the aperture to a super-small pinhole and shoot a super-wide-angle, severely old-school image through a tiny hole. Features

No Film Included
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The specs are not explicit in saying NO FILM IS INCLUDED.
If you want this to be a useful gift, buy some film too.
Great, easy and fun camera.

At first I was apprehensive buying a Holga. I have only ever used Minolta X-700 SLR’s and Maxxum AF SLR’s. The images I have seen from Holgas seemed to have so much more depth and soul, so I ordered one for myself. I had seen these on display at a high-priced clothing store at the mall that also sells vintage items. I was intrigued but they wanted twice the price for the starter kit. When I looked it up on Amazon.com I was surprised at what I thought was the great value of the starter kit. I am only disappointed because my kit did not include the roll of color film or the batteries. Other people have mentioned these items missing from their box as well. Otherwise I would rate this a great deal compared to brick and mortar stores in my city. Film and batteries are relatively cheap. The book that comes with the kit is inspiring and full of beautiful photos made with this humble toy camera.
Not as advertised!!!

I have been wanting a Holga for a while and it may be a great camera, but I don’t know because I can’t use it yet!! I paid extra for shipping just so I could get it faster but lo and behold the kit does NOT come with film or batteries like it shows in the picture (I wish I had seen these other recent reviews before I bought it!). Now the batteries are no big deal, but having the film in the box would have been a big help. The book is not that great either IMO. It seems to be aimed more at people who already know how to use a Holga, and not a complete beginner’s book like I was hoping for. Also, a good third of the book is taken up by a section containing quotes and bios from [...] users, which frankly I couldn’t really care less about. There are lots of pictures and some cool tips, but not much “how-to” information. Luckily all of the how-to information can be found on the internet, but I feel a little cheated that I paid sixty bucks for a so-called “starter kit” that doesn’t actually come with everything you need to get started, and does come with a book that if I had been able to look through in advance, I wouldn’t have actually wanted. You may want to consider just buying the Holga itself, and not the kit. If you do buy the kit, make sure you order film as well if you want to be able to use it right away.

Very fun to point and “expose” with, because of the unexpected exposure effects made possible with the plastic lens and the manual features (e.g. can create a vignette look). One major downside to the plastic (cheap-looking) camera is that the sidebars holding the back cover get loose and slide easily (one remedy that can hold them in place involve some tape and velcro…). The flash filters are handy in creating some mad effect on contrast and color schemes. The electric tape can be used to prevent light leaks. The book features some techniques and a lot of pictures. If you’re looking for something that will give you “certainty” in knowing exactly how your pictures will turn out, try a digital camera. If you’re looking for something that give you greater control for depth of field and shutter speed, try a traditional, manual SLR. If you like experimenting with alternative exposure techniques (e.g. masking and multiple exposures) as well as camera modifications, and are open to being surprised by what the camera captures, try this one.

Good price, compared to local vendors. The Lomographic Holga Starter Kit a good package for getting into Holga style photography. Many creative technics described in the “World through a plastic lens” booklet included with the kit.
Holga Kit 829 comes WITHOUT FILM OR BATTERIES!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I ordered this Holga Starter Kit and when it arrived I was missing the 120 format film and 2 AA batteries…
I called Amazon and a replacement kit was sent out, I printed out a return label and sent that kit back (Great Customer Service).
So I get the new kit and same items are missing no film or batteries…
This is Kit 829 which comes WITHOUT FILM OR BATTERIES!
What is misleading is the photo they chose to display for this kit… which shows the batteries and film.
B&H has the Kit with Film and Batteries for $69.95 (Holga Starter Kit 828)
Amazon: 5 Stars for Customer Service, 1 Star for misleading photo
Holga Kit: 5 Stars Kit 829 with WITHOUT FILM OR BATTERIES.
Give myself 1 Star for not reading the reviews first.
save yourself some money

I don’t want to mislead anyone I love “the camera” but save yourself a lot of money and but just the camera. the name “starter kit” is very misleading! there is no film, no batteries but it comes with a very useless poster. again just buy the Lomographic Holga camera, go to YouTube type in Holga camera and have fun. JUST DON’T BUY THE STARTER KIT.
No film or batteries included

I was excited to bring this camera on vacation and paid extra for 2-day shipping. To my dismay, film and batteries were NOT in the box. This film is hard to find in my area so I won’t be able to use my camera on vacation. The description and picture are deceptive. I am frustrated with this purchase.
Misleading but still a fun buy

I just received my Holga starter kit and I am a bit bummed. I was psyched to use my camera right away, as the ad says it comes with batteries and film, but alas, there is no batteries or film. I am still mostly happy with the purchase but I should have read all of the reviews.
Excited but also a little disappointed
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
For a few years I have wanted one of these camera’s and in May I decided that I was going to get one. After doing some research I decided that I will pay a little more and get the starter kit. At least it will come with film that I can test run the camera.
Well, I was excited and surprised to receive my package today after only ordering a few days ago.
When I opened it I noticed that it did not come with the promised film and batteried and that disappointed me since I wanted to start using it right away. Now I wish I would have just gotten the camera.
Anyway, that is not going to stop me from enjoying my new toy and I look forward to using it.
