Never quite worked right.
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I don’t know what it was with this product but it would only work half the time. We changed batteries and put it on different settings but it never fully worked right for us. The necklace and the tiara didn’t fit my daughter so she was upset about this also. Cute idea though.
Do Not Buy This Toy!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This looks like the most wonderful toy, and it would be if the scanner would work correctly. The scanner works sometimes, and other times it scans the items incorrectly, and sometimes the scanner doesn’t work at all! Without the scanner, this toy is nothing but a standard calculator wrapped in princess decor. It is so frustrating for my child to use because the scanner doesn’t work properly. I thought we had a “lemon” so I took it back to the store to get another one, and we had the same problems with it. I exchanged it 2 more times, only to have the same issues again. My child is so disappointed—she really wants it to work properly. We’ve read the instructions carefully, and we still have MANY issues with the scanner. After reading other reviews on Amazon and ToysRUs, I realized many others have had similar terrible experiences with this cash register. I am going to try the Barbie Shopping Time Cash Register—the reviews for this item are great. Don’t waste your money or precious time on this cash register—you will only end up frustrated!
Great toy

My 3 yr old loves this toy. Comes with a lot of stuff, really good for teaching money/math. One problem, if you don’t have the bar code reader lined up just right, it will make an error noise or read incorrectly. Doesn’t seem to faze my 3 yr old much, just kinda annoying to hear. A lot of fun.
Prefect For You Little Princess
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a nice product. Make sure you move the switch on the side of the machine from “try Me” to normal or it does not work. I bought it for my niece for christmas. She loved it.
Cute Idea, If it actually worked properly
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This was a gift for christmas for my almost 4 year old daughter, and she still plays with in once in a while but she gets frusterated with it , as do I , that when you scan the cards of things to purchase it does not scan right. It keeps making the same noise over and over. I dont know why this was released to the stores with it not even correctly. Sometimes if the things scan correctly, it wont let us scan more than three items in a row before it starts the dinging noise again. Very annoying. It is a cute toy, but needs to be re-released with a better working version.
Nice in theory….

If it worked properly, it would be terrific. But as others have noted, it invents it’s own product list. My daughter is quite frustrated with the scanner. I thought it was me, but it’s clearly not. The clips to organize the different price cards are worthless. But the drawer opens and closes properly.
That said, if you can live with the inaccuracy, it’s a fun toy. This was a gift for my daughter from a friend, so I don’t know what the price was. Anything more than $15 was too much. Once my daughter accepts the silly scanner and moves on to the microphone, I think she’ll have more fun with it.
Stopped working after 3-4 months
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Bought this at Target and I was so excited. There are some fun accessories and the cash register has some neat features. But it completely stopped working after a few months. And it won’t even turn on now. There is a reset button on the back which no longer helps! Would not buy this product if I were you!
A Compass…..Twelve Dollars….
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
My 3yo daughter hasn’t stopped playing with this…however, every item that gets scanned gets read as “A compass…twelve dollars”. She may be too young for the game portion, and she doesn’t seem to mind that the scanner is basically worthless, but it’s laughable how many times we hear “A compass….twelve dollars”. She can scan anything….the counter, a piece of mail, the carpet, anything, and it almost always says “A compass….twelve dollars”. Plus, they actually advertised on the box that this has 80 loose pieces. Eighty! That’s just crazy. That’s eighty pieces that, when scanned, say “A compass…twelve dollars”.
A lot of Fun!!!

I gave this to my 5 year old daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. There is a certain order to do things to make it work perfectly, but she doesn’t always understand that and rings everything up in her own way. It still works for her and she has a blast playing with it, as does my 3 year old. They love the debit card and the pin pad. The microphone is another favorite and they love announcing “sales” on it, or paging for help. The scanner isn’t always correct with the items it rings up, but if you have little kids, they don’t even notice. Most of the time they don’t even know what is being entered, but they can hear that something was rung up, or other beeps and just think they’re doing everything perfectly, and they can enter numbers and it’s all about the fun pretend play. We’ve had a lot of fun with this and I would reccomend it to anyone who has little kids.
Cute – But Electronics Not So Good
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
My 3 & 5 year old daughters received this for Christmas. It is VERY cute with the scanner, “functional” keypad and credit card machine. However, It is now July and the electronics have stopped working. No more scanning, no more credit cards. The open button still works and they still love pretending with it. It’s cute but when the electronics stop working, I’m not so sure it’s worth the money paid.
